My name is Luis Felipe Torres or “Lufe” for short. I participated in numerous sports as a child and decided to enter the Naval Academy in Chile when I was 15 years old. After four years of hard training and participation in high level sports I graduated from the Naval Academy as a Navy Officer. After one year of duty I was injured and could not complete the Navy Seal course. I was disappointed of course, but from that point forward life started to bring me new and exciting opportunities.
After leaving the Navy I entered college to pursue a degree in engineering. During my third year I went to work in Washington, DC, as an IT engineer. For the first time in my life I was spending eight hours a day at a desk and found myself missing the sports that I had been doing all my life. I joined a semi-pro soccer team in DC which changed my perspective about life. I met a lot of coaches and people involved in sports and fitness, which inspired me to start a new journey.
I went back to my country and entered, with a full ride scholarship, one of the best universities in Latin America. After five years I earned a BS in Physical Education and Exercise Science, finishing first in my class and writing my thesis about “Pilates & Yoga for the Down Syndrome Population.” In college I received a first-class education with the excellent curriculum including anatomy, exercise physiology, biomechanics, sports nutrition, and more. Most valuable was my internship and supporting study in methods of teaching people of differing levels, environment and population.
During my time in college I practiced as many sports as possible. I was on the varsity teams of soccer, gymnastics, Track & Field, swimming and diving. I participated in other sports including Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Aikido, rowing, parkour and many others. I got into the best shape of my life by using every method of training possible in order to develop my full potential as a human being and a coach.
Training with me you will develop your endurance, strength, speed, power, agility, balance, coordination, flexibility and, most importantly, a mind without limits. You will build discipline, motivation and enjoyment of physical activity. I am able to provide full nutritional advice, directly from my years of study and personal experience as an athlete. You will recover or discover your vitality and feel full of life.
